Women’s Economic Empowerment: Creating Sustainable Livelihoods
Recognizing that empowering women creates ripple effects throughout entire communities, MCEI launched a comprehensive women’s economic empowerment program. The initiative provides business skills training, access to microfinance, mentorship, and market linkages for women-led enterprises. Women participate in savings and lending groups, attend business management workshops, and receive ongoing coaching from successful female entrepreneurs. The program has enabled hundreds of women to start or expand businesses in sectors including agriculture, crafts, retail, and services. Beyond economic gains, participants report increased confidence, decision-making power in households, and greater community involvement. Many have become role models and mentors for other women in their communities.
Key Impact:
- 300+ women trained in entrepreneurship
- 80 women-led businesses established
- $50,000+ in microloans disbursed
- 15 savings groups with 450 members operating
